Ybor City’s Coppertail Brewing Co. has always been a place where music is a welcome inspiration. It’s grounds have hosted bands like Black Tusk, and its own house band—featuring Coppertail founder Kent Bailey on drums—regularly thrills when it competes in brewery battle of the bands shows. Another brewer-driven band, Path of Increased Indifference featuring Deviant Libation’s Tim Ogden, even recorded music there.
Coppertail continues embracing music during Tampa Bay Beer Week when old-school, Bronx-based hip-hop duo Camp Lo—featuring Sonny Cheeba and Geechi Suede, who married rap with funk and jazz on songs like “Luchinie” and “Coolie High”—headlines an Oxbow and Half Acre brewing tap takeover event on Thurs. March 12.
Fava le chic DJs the party, and two Bay area favorites—Sam E Hues, who just released a Valentine’s Day music video, and Louis Junior—open the show.
Tickets to see Camp Lo play Coppertail Brewing Co.’s Tampa Bay Beer Week concert on Thurs. March 12 at 8 p.m. are $20 and available via Brown Paper Tickets.
