Georgia Barnes has been making music for a while, but it has taken her until now to find her sound. The daughter of Neil Barnes of the 1990s dance titans Leftfield, she gave up a youthful career as a professional footballer — she was kicking a ball round a London park aged eight when a scout for Queens Park Rangers spotted her potential — and after a degree in ethnomusicology she went on to be the drummer for the south London poet and rapper Kate Tempest.
